What goes on there? Just filling out applications or on the spot interviews? I've been invited to a couple of them and I'd like to know what's going to happen. Thanks.

There's a lot of competing when you get there. Being that there's a lot of people there you have to almost force your way through to the recruiter just to stand out. Expect to be interviewed given the type of job you're applying for. For instance, most fast-food jobs won't interview you. BUT, a desk type job more than likely will. Expect to fill out an application and be prepared to explain what makes you different from the rest of the people there. Job fairs, in my book, are mostly for establishing contact with that prospective employer. Getting your foot partially in the door. Just make a great first impression. Be honest and calm because they will do a background check to see if your resume & credentials are true.

You fill out job applications...there are usually many different companies to chose from . It is nice because you can fill out applications for several places without having to drive all over the place and you know you are applying for a company that is looking for help. Take copies of your resume with you, dress neatly and be polite....the person taking your application just might be the person who you interview with. They may ask you a few very basic questions ....but nothing to personal or lengthy as it is very public, and they are looking to applications from many different people so they will not likely be putting whole lot of time into one particular person. Feel free to ask a few of your own basic questions, but try not to overburden them or take too much of their time. If you are looking for a job, you should attend a job fair, you just might find the job you've been looking for. Good Luck!

Apparently spot interviews are possible but I always dress up to go to them and have never gotten an interview even when I was a recent college grad fresh outta college, no interviews for me. I did get calls back later though but have never landed a job through them.

They will probably have a lot of booths like you'd see at a craft fair only except for crafts they got companies set up at each booth and they will tell you what positions they are hiring for. You go around and talk to the different recruiters and if you get lucky you land a job offer. Plan to have a lot of resumes available if you go to one to hand out to prospective employers.

Don't miss this job fair. . . You meet a lot of intersting people & several interviewers are on site to talk to you and accept your application. This is a first step in the interview process & be sure to include your email and home phone for them to contact you.
Good luck . . .

Nope, but I heard that they do give you interviews on the spot so you should look sharp. A couple of resume's wouldnt hurt either.

They are great, for getting the JOB you want. If you go to one, be ready for an interview. Dress for it and have your resume with you, if you don't have one. Get one made up. This is the GREATEST way to get the you want.

basically it's to take apps and set up interviews. depends on if it's a company having one or a job locating service. if it's a company it will only be that one business taking apps, if it's through a job service there will be several co.s vying for appicants.
