i want to no what a mod is in halo 1 ive heard it every where and i dont know what it means

I don't play Halo much, but if it is like every other First Person Shooter, a mod is short for Modification. It is a modification of the game...it could be a visual modification (change skins, etc.) or it could be a gameplay modification (new weapons, game style, etc.).
