What qualifications does one need in order to become an actor?

There is no acting schools in the state where i live. I am only 28, no College. I was just merely curious as to wondering what a person must have in order to become an actor in a Hollywood Motion Picture. I personally, would love to be a John Wayne -- as in being a Western Star. I know i do not have talent of any sorts just asking.

Every state college offers some acting/drama classes, so there must be some training you can get reasonably close to you. Other than that, "actor" is a title that requires no qualifications other that you act on the stage or in films/video. It's like "photographer" -- if you take photos, you are a photographer. Doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers and CPAs (among others) all require specific education to earn their job title. However, all an actor needs is an acting job.

If you want to be an actor, I strongly suggest that you take a class or two. Perhaps you can try out for some local community plays.

Otherwise, you need to go where there are acting jobs, such as New York City and Los Angeles. Be aware that the competition is absolutely fierce and only the toughest survive. There are probably 2,000 other actors who would like to be "the next John Wayne," and you'll have to prove that you're better than they are. And you'll need a lot of luck doing it.

If you do not have talent (as you say) at least in acting, then I don't quite understand why you would be asking this question. To be a Hollywood actor you need talent, good looks, tons of experience in local community theater, school plays, college drama classes (this one not mandatory, but it sure helps), acting workshops, etc. You need an agent (hard to land), and the right connections to people already in the business. You need scads of luck, too.
