Being single white male w/no home is a Tax burden that very few can feel.I pay up to 34% just on Federal taxes. WHY? Why not tax those people who put more of a burden on society like people with 5 or six childeren. I cannot even afford a downpayment on a Decent house because they take so much out and I pay so much. BUT IF I WAS A FOREIGNER I WOULD QUALIFY FOR FED. GRANTS, LOW DOWNPAYMENTS AND MANY EXCLUSIONS I FEEL LIKE I AM BEING LEFT OUT OF THE AMERIAN DREAM.

I challenge Democrats to be more specific about what they think is an ideal tax scale. They seldom have an answer, and only say they must be higher. Bush set a goal, 1/3rd, and that's where it is. He also lowered it for the lowest of earners. Although the top 10% do control 50% of the wealth, they also pay 75% of all the taxes. The bottom 30% of these United States pay no Income Tax. Now these number all go up if you count Social Security as the tax that it is. I'm not sure what the Democrats want, but they have called for a 'Windfall' tax on big companies, mostly because it sounds good when pandering for votes. The recent big numbers from petroleum companies was still right in range at $.10 on the $1 while the average is $.09 on the $1. It makes me believe that the Democrats really don't know what they want other than more of your money!

- P.S. Social Security is the largest budget item. Next is Medicaid. Discretionary spending is quite reasonable, given what all we get. Also, I personally like the idea of China investing it's future in our success. The more they buy our debt, the less likely we are to ever have a conflict, and the cost of that peace dividend is well worth it!

No simple answer to that one. History has proven that the democrats get the tax up and the economy goes down and then the republicans have to come in and lower taxws to stimulate economic groth. read history and you will see this is a fact. ...The national debt is not the highwst it has ever been. It is the most dollars that is true. It is not the highest percentage wise. Again read some history. Finding that balance where the taxws are not too high and stifles groth and when too low and stifeling national needs. It is much better to be a little on the low side than the high side. The USA is in better shape than most of the polititions want you to think. They have to have something to convince people to vote for them. After elected then you will be amazed at how fast things got better all the sudden.

Democrat or republican, it will be the same for a long time to come.

The two biggest line items in the budget are the military and the interest on the national debt. The republicans have been running the white house for 6 years and until a month ago ran congress for 12. They have had more of an impact, or lack of impact, on your ability to purchase a home than the democrats.

democrats, dont necessarily feel this way. they promote this agenda, along with raising the minimum wage, to gain votes to get into office. once there they backstab the country. as far as raising taxes, they just dont feel that people who work hard should be rewarded because all they support are the bums in big cities who want a free buck off the government. Maybe when they do raise taxes, try getting teddy kennedy to pay taxes on his 500mil $ estate. ask hillary about all the money shes recieved and see if shell pay taxes on it. tell there moron in Congress to stop putting their money in offshore trust funds so avoid the corrupt tax code that's stricken this country for so many years.

First let me take issue with the large amount of children, I"m assuming you just threw a number out there, but that offends me. I have 5 children. I'm married, he's retired military, and now a contractor for the government. I'm a stay at home mom so we live on 1 income and due to our (his) excellent management of our money. we put 20% away per month, and send our kids to private schools. We don't even make $100K a year. It's all in managing our money. NOw for the other side, my 2nd set of twins we born extremely premature and no I didn't have to pay anything (yes i'm a minority here). But I"m thankful, my friends had to file bankrupty over their childs NICU stay.

NOw to answer your question.....Democrates want us to stay dependent on them so they can "control" us. They are trying to make us think we CAN"T do it ourselves. And they can do it better. Instead of us taking personal responsiblity for our lives it's easier to have a government handout. Oh just let someone else fix my problem.
NOw I also know of a handful of single white males that have been able to buy a home even though they pay a large percent in taxes (as do we, but not 34%). It is possible. Maybe you live in a high cost area, consider moving.
Now I can say I don't put a burden on the government with MY children, but I do know of exceptions, a friend of mine has 4 and gets the drs to diagnose something wrong with them, so they can get "special benefits" while she sits at home. I don't agree with this, but PLEASE don't think think it's all of us with large families, by the way I NEVER planned on 5 children, I got 2 sets of twins. BUT we support our children fully and even help our extended family who is less privileged than we are. My husband and I both came from poor families, but we made something of ourselves. I call it the "AMERICAN DREAM".

Try offsetting you pay with investments that are tax deffered, like 401K. Sounds like you may need some financial advice. there are ways if you just look a little and stop whinning you pay my "burden" . Maybe if you look at your budget there are places you can make cuts too, like we have done. Good luck.

Two seperate issues at work here.
If we pay higher taxes it will pay for our budget rather than accruing more debt from China. Don't like paying more, but where do I sign up? I pay quite a nice chunk of my income in Federal, state and sales tax too.
Secondl;y giving benefits to foreigners before us. Yes, this makes me mad as hell seeing I've been denied residency for school for three years but they'll grant it to an illegal.

Why did republicans drive this country into the highest debt we've ever seen? When democrats finally got it cleaned up ole Georgie boy showed up and it all went doen the toilet. Democrats always have to clean up the mess from republican boondogles. And need I mention the word corruption? Makes the corruption and favor buying during the turn of the century(very early 1900s) seem like a walk in the park.

What makes you assume children are a burden on society? Without a country's citizens replacing themselves through births, it becomes dependent on foreigners for labor and for any increase in the economy.

Maybe single people who are selfish and prejudiced should pay higher taxes unless they can demonstrate they are fiscally responsible enough to buy a house and be contributing members of a community.

You are my man...

That's what you get for being a white male. It is a fact that there are programs to help everyone in society get ahead except for you.

Sorry to say it, but it's true. I feel for you. I really do. Affirmative action and everything else has made it harder for the white male.

Because those that do not know what to do, always tend to the belief that if you throw enough money at a problem it will be solved. This has of course been proved wrong in just about every case. This also gives them the revenue to slide over to their pet projects.
