I have a really sore rib, it hurts (like a stabbing pain) when I breathe deeply, cough, twist my upper body and when I press on a certain point. There is no swelling or bruising, but it really hurts.
I wanted to know if I am being a hypocondriac, and if it is just some bruising, or if it could be cracked.
If it is cracked, is there anything I should do ? Or do ribs just need time to heal naturally ? ....if so, how long should I expect it to hurt. ?

The only difference between a broken rib and a bruised rib is that if its broken they will ask you to be extra vigilent about noticing labored breathing, coughing blood, peeing blood, and pooping blood. They are worried about a corner or that rib poking into organs. This is very unlikely unless you can notice a definite abnormality. If you want to go to the doctor, they can prescribe narcotics that will help you deal with the pain. Other then that, just look for the signs about or anything else strange and if it occurs call your doc. Other then that, you can exprect progressive healing over the next 2 weeks or so depending on the severity.

The only way to know for sure is to have a chest x-ray taken at your MD's office. The treatment would depend on how badly they were broken, like a fx rib was displaced badly and would be a risk of puncturing a lung etc.Usually their isn't any treatment other than rest and no strenuous activities and pain medication etc Try a ice pack to the area x 24 hours, then apply a heating pad to promote healing.Take care. If you had a cracked rib, just breathing normally would be really painful! It sounds like you have a strain/sprain or even damaged the tissue that lies in between your ribs. My bf has just has that problem and the doctor told him to get plenty of rest.

There's no treatment for broken ribs as they are no longer taped up. As long as you are having no breathing difficulty. If that's the case then you should go to A+E for treatment. This could be a sign you have burst a lung if your rib is seriously fractured.
You will just have to bear it for a few weeks. Some hospitals don't even x-ray them as there's no treatment to be had that's useful.

I would recommend that you go see your doctor soon. My grandma had the same symptoms and ended up having a few cracked ribs.

. No,. I've never kissed with or to anothers bruised lips. What I have done is kissed from my own and at times to anothers "bruised" heart. Kisses as that are expressed with trust, forgiveness, understanding and deep care. So many ways to express emotions with the body, kissing being one of them. Kissing....I love that so. Expressive, wonderful. It's "speaks" with no words. Precious poem. "One touch to heal"...sweet. Kisses as that are kisses to the soul, not just the lips. .

You need to go to the Dr or the Hospital to have an x-ray as this is affecting your breathing. Please dont just leave it in the hope it will go away or heal naturaly. Get an x-ray
