Sure if he does something worth a million dollars. Some economists have authored books on the subject, become guest lecturers, become consultants for fortune 500 businesses, used there expertise to speculate successfully.

It is "possible" for anyone to become a millionaire in 5 years but it isn't easy. Of course, nothing worthwhile is ever easy.
