I don't see them in the winter where I live (Michigan - Indiana border).
Not that I can remember anyway, but this year, as of 2-3 weeks ago, I've been seeing them and hearing them every day .

So who's got the scoop ?

I live in NH and they are here year round. Cardinals tend to come to the same areas they have been to before as long as there is food.

I live in Ontario. I have cardinals year round...May be you or a neighbour is putting out the Right feed that attracts them to your property.
