Amphibians and some insects primarily live on land (not in water) yet lay their eggs in water. This is usually seen with many animals that have major transformational stages in their life histories.

Frogs ? they stay to tell the story land and water yet whilst they lay eggs they could be interior the water b/c they're tadpoles and could swim till they attain the point the place they advance legs.
