Used to be Open House week at the frat houses trying to get you to join. In the older times this included round-the-clock keg parties as a freebie for everyone to come by and check out the fraternity. This became Rush and it has turned into recruiting for the frat membership.

Rush week is the week before school starts and if you are inerested in the sororities you visit each house and go to a series of house visits. Each day is an elimination process so at the end of the week you might possibly receive an invitation to join a sorority.
