nope, only if you have the right RAM needed for your PC. you might wanna look up your system using it's maker to find out what kind of RAM it needs and how much you can max it to.

RAM upgrade won't be of any problem, but if you are doing it so that you computer will run faster, than you won't see much of a difference there. You'll just be able to run more applications simultaneously, but they won't actually run any faster.
If you want faster working applications, besides upgrading RAM you could consider replacing the CPU with something better, but for that you really have to now much more details about you motherboard and stuff ... to know which one you can buy, so it's best to just go where you bought you PC and discuss it with them.

Generally speaking you don't "change" RAM. The correct type of RAM will be determined by your motherboard. You "upgrade" RAM which means you add more of the same type. The only change you should see is that your system runs faster.
