A socket will tighten more than a screwdriver becaus the socket handle gives more torque than a screwdriver.

You can make a nut much tighter with a socket than with a screwdriver. But if you did not strip any bolt threads or break any bolts, there shouldn't be any problem of over-tightening. Next time, its a good idea to read the instructions first!!

I think you have done the right thing.
Sockets have better leverage and you should use more of a tight pinch then full tighten (if you know what I mean)

u will have tightened it more than the recommended torque as u get more torque with a wrench than a screw driver! u might have striped the treads so check it is still tight

keep using the socket...you have to remember the type of bolt you are using as softer ones will spap off the head...so take it slow...you will know when it is snug enough

Under normal circumstances NO.
You may have overtightened, but you know when you've overtightened it and stripped the thread (although people rarely admit knowing they've done it).
If you honestly haven't stripped the thread ("it started to go loose again, and wouldn't get any tighter"), then I wouldn't worry about it.
