8years ago even BBC reported Tendulkar's name in match fixing scandal. Later on his name was deleted mysteriously without explanation. Was he at peak then? Later even Kapil Dev's, Jadeja's and Azharuddin's lockers were checked but not of Tendulkar. All player's lockers should have been checked up. He was given clean chit in highly controversial manner by people of questionable credibilities. Why this selective discriminatory attitude? Firstly, a highly controversial and badly defamed retired supreme court judge Y V Chandrachud(of RSS type fascistic mentality was given charge of inquiry(notorious for bogus & treacherous Shah Bano Case for which he admitted mistake and apologised two years later)who gave clean chit to all players making mockery of judiciary again. When Abdul Qayoom's judgement came in Pakistan, for namesake a new judge was appointed to probe but in hush up manner he gave an incomplete bogus judgement and surprisingly again some big fishes were left out. Again bogus. Why ?

It is an acknowledged fact that the cricket these days is not only about playing sporting game but more about a money churning commercial activity and therefore no one would defy the demi god of commercial sponsorships. In the period 1996 to 2000 when the match fixing was the talk of town, Tendulkar was at the peak of his cricketing career and therefore darling of sponsors whose products he was advertising. Millions of dollars of money of big corporates was riding on him. Marc Mascarenhas, the guru of all sponsorship management, was his manager. And all the boards including the richest of them all BCCI were the beneficiary of commercial fortune which the Tendulkar represented then. Under that background, none could dare belittle the demigod called Tendulkar. And that is not all. Even now when he is not in his cricketing prime, it is very difficult to remove him from the side because still a lot of money is riding on his shoulders. The saga reminds me of Ravi Shastri who despite playing badly and too slowly for one day cricket, was not dropped for several matches on the support he received from big corporate house who was one of his sponsors. So moral of the story is do not take sports on face value take it on its commercial value.

I really don´t know which scandals you are referring to. However, players are recognized by their attitude and behaviour. And I don´t know about others but I can bet that Tendulkar can never do such a bad thing. Since the time Azharuddin and Jadeja were maliged of the match fixing scandals I was pretty sure that Azhar can never do such thing, too. It shows from their (Azhar and Tendulkar´s) faces how honest they are. Whenever Tendulkar is on-field you get such expressions that this man can never cheat. And he really has been a great player in terms of such things. Even Azhar never looked. And look, Azhar has recently been freed of such allegations. So, as far as I know Tendulkar, he can never do such a thing. That´s my word! He is a very honest man and has maintained his dignity throughout the career.

I bet you're a pakistani, becoz Sachin's name was never involved in match fixing. Infact the police questioned him about the role of Azar and others in match fixing and He never said anything incriminating about them to the police.
Also why dont you also talk about Ricky Ponting being on dope? His name also figured when they had accused Warne and others in the dope scandal. Why was Pontings name deleted.
And what about Shoaib and Asif testing positive and then found not guilty later. What about Shoaib 'chucking' the ball? C'mon give the answers.

Match Fixing is comparable to Insider Trading. Those that *fix* the Stock Market are jailed...the same should apply to anyone caught Match Fixing.

It was a matter of national pride and if they had done something with Tendulker it would have hurt Indian cricket a lot. To Steve you are betting for questioner that he is a Pakistani and that clearly indicates how big a gambler you are. You are betting because he is showing you the mirror. When did we say Shoaib and Asif were not guilty if you are a constant answerer of yahoo then check out our answers regarding their drug abuse. We are sports lovers and love the game of cricket and want to enjoy a "neat and clean" game. You need to be a little broad minded Steve.

You went too far. I fully trust Indian players. They won't betray and defame India of great heritage. Don't get carried away by such rumours.
