Thermal vision makes light in the infrared spectrum (Heat) visible. Thermal vision is hard to defeat since you must reduce the heat signature of the target item. It also allow one to "see through" certain obstacles, to see the heat signatures behind them.

Night vision amplifies the visible light spectrum into the ultra violet and near infra-red ranges. This allows the user to see more light than is available to the naked eye. However this type of vision can be defeated by obstacles, weather, or smoke screens.

Thermography makes it possible to "see" one's environment with or without visible illumination.
Night vision is the ability to see in a dark environment. Whether by biological or technological means, night vision is made possible by a combination of two approaches: enhanced spectral range, and enhanced intensity range
