Well, yes.
But, why XP?
would you like to try to "think outside the Microsoft 'box'?" for a change?
http://pclinuxos.com runs in the CDrom, boots in RAM, comes with 1900 FREE games, programs, suites.
Install icon on desktop, read the guide FIRST! Then, upon install, runs a system upto 50X faster!
I actually run it on Pentium Class systems with less than the recommended 350Mhz and 256Mb of RAM. That is also the RECOMMENDED minimum for XP, but, XP really creeps along.
So, all my old systems, "curbside donations", for kids, schools, are running the faster, more complete, FREE http://pclinuxos.com
for really old crappy computers, with as little as 82MB of RAM, like, say, a Pentium 133, I run http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/
or, from a USB stick!

Well at least double the 233MHz, but really for any version of xp to operate how you want it, I would go for at least a gig CPU, 512MB of memory, decent graphics card, then that way you give your self a little scope.
