Take someone with you when you get your results. Be concerned if they take too long to call you back (if it takes a long time, they may be trying to organize a "cancer team" to meet with you when they give you a diagnosis.) If they do find cancer, then you will have about 3 weeks to make decisions on surgery and chemo. Then, after making those decisions, there will be more decisions about radiation and pills. If you do have to make those decisions, you will probably have an entire team of medical professionals and others(social workers, dietiticians, etc) plus your family to help you make them. In the mean time, one of the best things you can do is make sure that you have done your grocery shopping, cleaned your house, paid your bills, and gotten caught up or ahead on your daily responsbilities, so that if you have to deal with a cancer diagnosis, you will have time to do so.

I've had that done. Lucky for me, it was just a cyst and they emptied it with another needle. Bit tender for a few days but got to say I didn't mind that at all. Hope yours is just a cyst. Good luck hon

I had a FNB done in 98, It was benign thank god. But I had it removed anyway. I wish you all the best. Your age is on your side and if it's not in the family, that could be in your favour to.
God bless and the very best of luck.

Sentinal lymph nodes may have to be biopsied or directly dissected if affected. Options are neoadjuvant (radiation/chemotherapy) therapy if breast conservation is desired and if possible. Another option is mastectomy followed by immediate reconstruction followed by radiation and/or chemotherapy.

Peaches, I know this will be a hard thing to do, but please be calm and patient until the results come in...try not to look into things too deep, and occupy yourself with everything positive until then...I am sure you will be ok...email me if you need someone to talk to as I know waiting can be hard, but chin up babe, laugh a lot, think positive and it will be alright....Jen...

Dang, wish my wife was here(work), she does mammograms and biopsies . She could answer your question. I think you'll probobly have a lumpectomy though. I don't know much about any followup chemo and rad treatment though. Try WebMD.com.
