I expect they think that we (US consumers) are nuts for liking the low budget unrealistic garbage.

Mad Max movies brought Mel Gibson to the Australian publics attention in a big way. I saw the first one at a drive-in, and when Max was getting his revenge on the bikies, the entire drive-in erupted with horn honking. Loved it then, love it now.
