I have a Netgear router hooked up to my PC and runs from an AT&T streamline modem. Simple system with other no fancy devices hooked up. My problem is that when I leave for work and the monitor/ computer goes into hibernate or sleep mode that the connection is lost and I have to turn off computer, then turn off router then turn off modem ,then turn them all back on in reverse order to gain connectivity. Whats going on??

Set your netgear router to persisitent connection. I think what is happening is that when your computer(s) go into hibernate/sleep mode the router is timing out the connections after so many minutes due to lack of use.

your Network Adapter needs to be able to bring Windows of Hibernation. go to network connections, right click on that specific connection, and go to properties, then configure or try to find some setting way to make Network Adapter stay on or bring Windows out of hibernation. it is probably going off to save power. check your power scheme in control panel--display
