That depends on what you define as 'interesting'. Would a job relating to your major be interesting? Would a job that you love as a hobby be interesting? Would a job sitting next to a hunk who adores you be interesting? Would a job in an exotic foreign country be interesting?

Even though working in a career that mirrors your interests would seem perfect, it is also the surrounding (people, environment etc), the exitement, the prospects etc that make a job seem 'interesting'.

Search your soul and write down what your interests are, explore possibilities by volunteering in work that matches these interests without leaving your present job, and if it really suits you, go for it.

The perils of working...one of the most dangerous things you can do is be in a position that you neither know nor like. You won't do well at this if it isn't something you can actually get involved in. Thus you definitely should be looking for a different position.

In the meantime however, scope out the supervisor or whom ever is responsible for overseeing this position and get them to train you properly so that you DO know what you are doing. Yes, it will probably still be boring but at least you can then make the effort to do your best. When it comes time to ask for that letter of Reference, you'll have a much more successful time of gaining a good one.

Attitude is going to play a big part too...change that to a more positive one, do what you have to in this position and meanwhile seek out another that you will enjoy...this one shouldn't suffer tho because you expect to move on. That will only go against you.

Good luck
