They charged me £25 for going over my over-draught limit. I called them up made a fuss complained to a few people (In India might I add) they refunded the charge. I might add that I now bank with CitiBank... who offer a 0% fee-free over-draught facility for up-to £500.. they don't charge any interest. It is great!

Can you only claim back recent bank charges? Because a while back i had bank charges up to £30 at a time on numerous occasions which i could not afford to pay and got me into trouble with the bank all because a direct debit would go out a day before i got paid, i had that many problems with it i'll never do direct debits again especially with HSBC.

I finally did 6 months later, and they had done it to me about 7 times up until then - in the end i went mad - it turned out they had been holding the money i paid in for to long, so it looked like i was low on funds when i wasn't - it was a complete nightmare, but it is sorted now. I am sorting out changing banks now though

hi, i recently got £600 from natwest for charges after countless letters. the trick is to take them to the point of a small claims hearing in court and a few days before in about 99% of cases they will offer you the full amount you want.

i had no luck, we were one day out on our dates from payday to when bills go out and they charge is £75. we only got £25 back as a 'good will gesture'. My sister is with a different bank and everytime they charge her she rings up, has a right go and gets her money back. Did you know its illegal to for your bank to charge you.
