You do this I mean download the drive from internet WHEN u havn't the motherboard's cd if u :
Start------control pannel------system-------in the third TAB named hardware click the sirst botton to see your hardware list now if you see this mark ! that mean there're a problem with theis marked hardware so click with right mouse on it and select properietes then update the driver and allow the Installer sofware to install it from your motherboard's cd ofcourse after insert it try this and tell me what happen because there are a many of sound card may install its dirver manual from the folder called " wk2 " :)

Sounds like you need to install a sound card or if it already has one then you need to install a driver for it. Go to the website of your PC manufacturer and search for 'sound card drivers'. If you don't know what kind of motherboard/PC you have I would just go out and buy a new sound card ($10-$15). It plugs into the motherboard of the PC, very easy to do. Once you do that, XP will usually detect it or you will have to install the software that came w/ it. After that just plug in your speakers to the sound card and you should have sound!

Download the application:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Back-Up-and-Recovery/WinDriver-Expert.shtml

This will detect and scan your drivers.
Once you have located your sound driver, go to the manufacturer's website to download the driver for that model.
Install the driver, restart the system and the sound would work.

However, if the sound still does not work this means that you need to replace your sound card.

hmm... dunno... possibly a hardware problem. since it's running on XP the computer should naturally have a sound card... maybe it's not plugged in properly or maybe it's a driver problem... or maybe you could add d sound card manually via add/remove hardware option.
