Although I personally would "never" keep such data on my PC, I do successfully protect certain passwords such as my Administraor login with PC-Cillin's Internet Security Suite.

It has a "Data Theft Protection" feature where you enter the first 4 characters of your name, phone number, CC number, bank account, etc ... into it & anytime any web connection attempts to retrieve that info it is immediately blocked & a warning appears on your screen.
You can then choose to allow or deny the info from being sent.

I know it works because I've had several attempts made at getting my Admin password hacked by sites pretending to be someone else, & it stopped it every time.
I believe Norton's Internet Security also has the same feature.

The best protection is prevention. Clear your browser files (especially Temporary Internet Files) daily, as well as your Page File.
The instructions below will have your PC do this (PageFile clearing) automatically with each shutdown.

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Administrative Tools
Click Local Security Policy
Click the "+" next to Local Policies
Click Security Options
Doubleclick "Shutdown: Clear Virtual Memory Pagefile"
Select the "Enabled" radio button
Click OK

strong passwords. change every 90 days. delete your cookies and temporary internet files. clear passwords internet explorer remembers(Privacy section of Internet Options). Use A Firewall at all times. Setup user accounts on your PC. Disable the Guest account. Outside of that the places that you have been and your bank have to take security measures. but there no way to be 100% safe. u can only decrease the chances of theft happening

The only way to protect your personal information on a computer is to know how to protect it properly.

This is done with the use of a good Firewall, Antivirus, and Antispyware programs.

You should never store that kind of personal information on your computer.

I recommend you read this site for a great basic education in protecting your computer and your information.

to be protected dont reply on bogus emails...these emails are claiming they're from the bank, but the bank will not send email asking for your bank details. don't write down your access code/s in any piece of paper keep it in your mind dont even tell it to your wife/husband, girl/boyfriend......they're the most "feared" hacker, (just kidding). if possible don't use public computers (because on the registry of the computer, everything you type in could be recorded). hope it helps.

keep it in your mobile ... use your self name in contacts and netbanking pin as another contact ... give a casual name to store it , as anybody read it they will ignore it as it is a phone no.
thanks

bye.
