Hi. I got my notes from the hospital when i went for the dating scan as I hadnt seen my midwife then (I still havent seen her now at 16 weeks!!). You do keep your notes and in fact a large part of those initial notes are there for you to complete. Wait till the scan and see if they give you a new set and then use them, adding the notes your midwife took to them. Tell the hospital you dont have any notes then you are more likely to get a new set to keep!

Good luck

Hi
Congratulations!!!
I always had my notes with me, so it is a bit odd that they didn't give you your notes the only thing i can think of is they will send the results of the scan to the midwife or doctor you are under.
If in doubt just double check with the midwife and ask if you get the notes or ask for a copy of the notes for your own record.
Your so lucky i wish i could be pregnant well good luck and have a fantastic pregnancy.

I've got five children from the age of six to the youngest who's twelve weeks and with every one of my pregnancy's I got my notes on the first midwife appointment. I also had to take them to every scan so the sonographer could plot the baby's weight etc on graphs to make sure all was well with the baby. This may be different where you are (I'm in Lowestoft) so if you're not sure ring your midwife and check with her.

Good Luck!

I have had my notes with me the whole time since my first appointment. The midwife has never kept them. Of course, things vary depending on the area you are in.
I have had 2 scans, and no one there has ever looked at my notes.
Give your midwife a call to check.

I was given my Pregnancy Booklet when i first went to the Dr's and then at my first midwife appointment she completed it and told me i needed to take it with me for all my antenatal appointments.

I would say you best phone the midwife and ask her about it, it could be different in different areas of the UK.

No they do take the notes then you get them back after your 20 week scan, its quite a bookful now. On my two boys it was just a green form booklet. But you will have them back when your half way there. Well thats whats happened with me anyway. Im in cardiff.

well up until 2 weeks ago and i am 22 weeks gone, i never even had bloods done. i find that second time around the nurses are not as bothered as last time. they will keep ur chart but u have had only one appointment so there is not alot they need info about u on this pregnancy. when it comes to twenty weeks they will ask u questiions about ur other pregnancys and ur history should be looked up.

I always had my notes with all 3 of my pregnancies and as far as I am aware they haven't changed it, although if I remember you don't actually need your pregnancy notes for a scan as the hospital will have your hospital record to record details of the scan and that will then get sent back to your gp, hope this makes sense! all you should need is the letter from the hospital

You are meant to keep your notes and take them with you to every appointment you have.

I only had my daughter in December, so i doubt they have changed it in 3 months.
