no not really. manila is like a melting point where various people are, people with different ideals, principles, views on life. unlike davao, the fact that people we're born there, grew up and they intend to keep there place a liveable one binds them together. to act and do something for themselves.
another sad fact is, duterte maybe powerful but i doubt if he can do that in manila where there are lots of people having the same power as him.

Hell no,it would take more than a miracle for duterte to make manila as liveable as davao...You could help anyone who becomes mayor by convincing people to cooperate...That's what the Philippine People lack as of now...Unity....

I doubt it, Even If Mayor Duterte will be Mayor of Manila. It boils down as to how people would want a place to be livable or not. In fairness to Mayor Atienza, in Manila they lack unity and politics thats full hate.

i guess it would help if duterte becomes the mayor of manila coz he is not as lax as atienza is, but manila being as liveable as davao would be possible only through the cooperation of the manilenios.

I think Atienzo is doing a good job cleaning up Manila - at least from a superficial perspective. The Bay area looks good, Remedios circle has been redone - I think the whole area was a bit more run down a few years ago.
