I have been having horrible problems with my reproductive organs. Lack of periods, Endometriosis, a D&C etc. My Doctor put in a Mirena IUD to treat my Endo. One of the side effects is Miscarriage, so with the problems over the past few days im concerned.
I started to bleed about a week after my period had ended. It seemed like a normal period at first, but then I started to cramp really badly. This was about 4 days ago. I woke up in the morning and went to the bathroom and wiped. There was a small clot and some flesh colored tissue. My LPN nurse mom said it looked like "tissue" and suggested I go to the Doc with it. I didn't because I don't have insurance and can't afford it.
Since then I have had heavy bleeding, horrible cramps, and more of the tissue blobs. Just now I went to the bathroom and there was a huge clot about 3 inches by 3 inches. It had some of that tissue wrapped up inside it. Is this a Miscarriage or is my Uterus falling out?

A mirena IUD Is a rather effective birth control device. Although it is possible to conceive whilst having one in place it is highly unlikely, although the timing of the placement and your last period could change the probablility. Many women have a thickened dischargeand heavy cramping accompanied by bleedin for the first few weeks after insertion of an IUD.

If you suspect you may be pregnant, you need to call an OBGYN immediately for an emergency visit. Or go to the e.r. If you do not think you are pregnant, it is normal to pass clots from time to time. It is your bodies way of renewing your uterine lining. However if the bleeding is excessive from what you normally do, then you need to be seen immediately. Blood clots do not always mean miscarriage. If you had a d&c recently, that would attribute to the heavy cramps along w/endometriosis (painful periods). How old are you? Are you wanting children? I had a hysterectomy at the age of 32 and it was the best thing I had ever done in my life! I had numerous problems like yourself (2 tubal pregnancies, 2 miscarriages), pre-cervical cancer, laperoscopy etc. etc. etc. My heart aches for you, because I know all that pain and worry! If you can't afford a doc, go to a clinic in your town/city. They are based on income. Good luck to you sweetie! Don't over look this at all, it can lead to serious problems.

It would sound like a miscarrige except for happening just one week after your period ended. I believe this is due to a problem with the IUD and you need to go in and get it taken out. If there's damaged tissue that you're unable to pass, it could become infected in a few days and open up all kinds of major problems for you. Please go in before you ruin your chances of ever having children after this!

It sounds like a miscarriage to me too. The only way is for a Dr to examine the tissue, but what you are describing sounds like what happened to me. Only the fetus was 2 months, and was bigger than a golf ball and came out with a slight amount of blood after I fell down a flight of stairs. That night I hemorrhaged.

my mother had this and it was not a miscarriage. She nearly died from loss of blood with this IUD you need to go to a hospital and get checked out.
