Water is the significant symbol in your dreams that represents 'emotions', 'feelings'.
Just because you are drowning does not have to be a negative thing. Would it be that in your life at the moment your emotions are quite high and low, mixed, very active etc. With a lof of emotions this is a very good thing, it is something to be enjoyed or if it is negative the power of your emotions can move you forward and out of a present situation to "calmer waters". Use this energy of emotion to take you to where you want to be. Good luck and all is good.

Dreaming of death represents the ending of one phase so that a new one can begin. It can show forthcoming finalities such as the end of a marriage or career. These are symbolic dreams and are unlikely to forecast an actual event. If the dead person is someone you know, consider what aspect of yourself that person represents. For example, if you dream of your mother dying could it represent the 'death' of the motherly side of your own nature. Perhaps you should try to be more caring and maternal or perhaps plans you have should be nurtured rather than killed off. Alternatively, you may also be expressing your hidden feelings about the person shown. Do you have a secret resentment towards them or desire to be independent of them?

I would go to the doctor's and have a work up. Interestingly enough, drowning is one of the most common dreams for those who have undiagnosed heart problems, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure etc. Have you had any swelling in your feet or hands? That's another sign. Sometimes the subconcious can tell you amazing things.

Do you have any issues in life that you are not addressing. Dreaming of drowning can indicate that you have feelings to deal with that are being ignored.

I have just read all the idiotic answer these people are giving you. The only one that was close was Lori K. (great job Lori). All except for the swelling in the hands, are signs of CHF Congestive Heart Failure (the lungs and heart are unable to transfer oxygen to the blood) usually causing fluid retention in the legs and lungs (see also COPD) and Pulmonary Edema (fluid in the lungs).

Often, it means that you are feeling overwhelmed by events in your life, over which you have little or no control. Try to identify the cause(s) in your waking life and consider what steps you can take, possibly returning here with more detailed information, for suggestions.

It could mean that you got to be careful of the days ahead. Danger looms in the front. True or false, its good to be on guard and be careful and cautious in your actions and outings for the next couple of days if not week.
