She needs to get out of the house and be active. Volunteering locally can give her a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Being at home makes people depressed, sedentary, and prone to weight gain. If she does choose to stay at home she can always do scrapbooking gardening or something else creative.

she could get a part time job? you don't say why she is staying at home ...is she raising your children while you work? is she incapable of work or you just make enough to support both of you so she doesn't need to work?.....I know personally even if my partner was making enough to support us both I would still feel a sense of accomplishment by bringing in some income of my own.........volunteering is a good way for her to escape the boredom of staying at home....on several levels...it provides a service and allows her to meet new people.....she could find a new hobby? scrapbooking seems to be a big hit..........there are tons of crafts she could get into.........or maybe learn something new? a new dance or an exercise group? or maybe she could organize a group to meet in her home.....scrapbooking group or photography group? writing group...anything....if she is bored she needs to figure out what interests her..what she can do....to overcome it

listen darling, boredom is boredom! She probably tried everything. Once the house is clean, laundry is done, dinner is prepared and you've showered....what else is there other than the internet? And who wants to be on that all day. I would tell her to find a part time job. TV is so boring too.

I stay at home and it took awhile for me to learn what to do. When you grown up, you at told to get a job, earn money. Staying home and supporting your house is a job. Enjoy it!!! Garden, get the house organized at your own speed. Make home made bread. Make what you do fun!

Does she do the housework? She could do that. She could pick up a hobby like cross stitching which anyone can learn, maybe knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, embroidery, etc?
