i want to change the appearance of the icons on my desktop. for example, i want to use an image in replacement of the "folder" icon. or is there a program/software which allows me to convert JPG/JPEG into DLL formats? so i will ot need to read the caption of the icons, just look for the image/icon.
thanks.

cut back all the abode windows you have open (if any), then press and carry the "Ctrl" key and scroll up or down including your mouse wheel. this might enable you to extend or decrease the size of the icons out of your laptop. In abode windows Explorer you're able to do an analogous factor to alter the size of the icons shown. Press and carry the "Ctrl" key and scroll up/down including your mouse wheel. besides the incontrovertible fact that, click on the small arrow close to the "perspectives" button from the better menu. A drop down menu will seem and you will pick the size you like for the icons shown in abode windows Explorer.

Icon should be of very small size. The photograph you want to use as icon trim them in photoshop & save them with extension .ico that is the format of icon. Now you can use it as icon.
