Does it work or does it just make you more dissapointed in the end?

Thinking positively is simply planning to succeed.

All of us have a critical voice inside, that gives us a good nagging from time to time. Learning to shut that voice up and get it to say nice things such as 'next time you do that, do this as well' instead of 'you blew that buddy, better go hide under a stone for the next millennium' is all part of positive thinking.

Every situation you find yourself in is a learning experience, and whilst you may not get everything you desire the first time you enter a new situation, by assessing the positives and incorporating them into your actions and words the next time, you increase your likelihood of success.

With the right kind of positive thinking, this notion of being disappointed vanishes completely, because you'll always learn something new from every situation you're exposed to, and with learning comes wisdom, which increases your winning hand over the length of your life.

With all the negative energy around us, I think it is important to be thinking positive in order for us to continue doing what we have to do e.g. career, family or life in general.

Positive thinking gives you a chance to continue fighting until the fight is done. Once we stop thinking positively, we will be going on a downward spiral as everything that we come across will be seen as negative and thus energy sapping until we give up (sadly some commit suicide because they are tired of living).

There is a reason why people coin the phrase "every cloud has a silver lining" and that reason is that there may be some good in the negative things that happen to us. This may not seem so immediately but at a later time, it may well be for the best.

Think positive.

Hey! For me positive thinking, as in thinking something is going to be really good can sometimes make me really disappointed because nothing goes as planned. When I think positive it works sometimes, but it's hard to say because sometimes you can be so positive that you aren't physically ready - for some odd reason. It happens to me quite a bit but I always try to stay positive, but not think that the outcome is going to be the most fantastic thing that has ever happened to me. When I think I've gone bad in a test, I usually get surprised unless I know that I've got every single answer wrong. It has happened. I hope this helps!

It is perspective. Thinking positive may help to keep some people more upbeat and out of the range of depression, but it does leave you open to have more of the let downs.

Personally I always expect the worst I am never disappointed I almost always get more then I expected.

Thinking positive is positive.... It can become a negative if you are dependent on the thinking... you need to add your will... your choice... your dedication to finish the goal... the passion in doing the things you love... the physical satisfaction of finishing or not, but doing it... it is thinking... not yet an action... once you start... then it is perfectly positive... ;-)
you can only disappoint yourself... no one else... ;-)

Positive thinking makes oneself alive. It gives you freedom to enjoy the beauty of life and it helps you change the world where you belong. It makes sense that you live and be a source of positive "attributes" to others. Share your blessings! Share your postive thoughts!

It depends on how motivated you stay with thinking positive. Do you think that way then fizzle out? Or, do you continue thinking that way day to day?

It's great if you can stay motivated - which is hard to do!

Zig Ziglar is a great positive thinker motivator.

It works.

Thinking positive causes a chain reaction.. you think it, you start to act it, people around you pick up on it and react positive to you.. and you react positive to that.
