Keep in mind that Bill was impeached for circumstances relating to an extramarital affair.

Personally, I don't think Hilary needs to answer any question about Bill's impeachment. Her role was that of a wife who was cheated on. How that impacted their marriage and why she stayed married to him is her business and I don't believe it's something that belongs in the public forum.

While I think Hilary is being reasonable by saying the issue is off limits, I don't think she can honestly expect her opponents to leave it alone just because she told them to. That being said, I don't think it would be in anyone's interest to bring it up or make an issue of it simply for the fact that the worst thing the democrats could do this campaign cycle is get into a mud slinging match.

Furthermore, Bill Clinton is still popular among many democrats and trying to make him look bad could backfire on any of Hilary's opponents.

I realize White Water and some of the other scandals are a different issue, but the republicans spent almost all of Bill's presidency trying to pin something on him and they weren't able to do it. Unless someone has new information that implicates Hilary, it could be a minefield trying to make those things an issue again.

Please note: none of this should be taken as me approving or disapproving of Hilary as a Presidential candidate. At this point I haven't really formed any kind of an opinion on any of the candidates or perspective candidates.

His impeachment should not weigh on her running....Her involvement in Whitewater, HOWEVER, is another matter...that and the cattle futures deals are her luggage...she and 8 make a cattle futures trade the SAME trade and she is the only one to make money...the others all lose their investment?
The Whitewater file that Congress was looking for from her law firm was missing for months...then found in the private residence at the White House on the dining room table...MISSING many pages...She is as crooked as Bill if not worse...

Yeah she was very adamant about making herself clear on that subject. That is the least of her worries though she needs to work on her own image. I see her as person like her husband that changes their stand on things like I change my socks. For example when the president asked for a vote to use force against Saddam if he did not comply with the U.N. resolution she gave a very interesting answer for why she voted for taking out Saddam. Saying that she studied the situation very carefully and did some extensive research on her own and agreed with the majority of congress to remove Saddam by force if necessary..and now of course as a purely political strategy and to make Bush look bad, she says she was duped, lied to,tricked by Bush. If he is one of the dumbest presidents that they all say he is what does that say about her intelligence? Just an observation....

He was impeached for PERJURY, lying under oath. He lied about an extramarital affair. She obviously knew about this extramarital affair, as she knew about extramarital affairs in the past. Hilliary is involved in the cover-up. so yes, it should be an issue relation to HER honesty. It is all part of the whole picture.

Absolutely! It reveals the issue of character. If Hillary is guilty of maintaining her own house, and then blindly supporting the ills that sprung from that, what can we expect when we entrust her with OUR house. One can say it was a personal matter, but it demonstrates a lack of judgment and willingness to be complicit that is extremely troubling.

Hillary Clinton is anything but reasonable . She has enough crime & unethical baggage of her own to fill the next 15 elections .. but actually , she & Bill Clinton have dual roles in many of their illegal hi-jinks .

If she continues to use his presidency to promote her campaign then absolutely it should be an issue.

While I don't think it should be hidden(not that it could be); I see little relevence to how she would do her job. It's a personal matter unlike the neocon agenda.
