I have long been fascinated by the person of Ayn Rand. I have heard that she could ask anybody about 3 questions and know how they would answer any question. Also she seemed so astute at getting to the heart of every issue.

The people who took over her work seem to me more or less political, obsessed with her philosophy of objectivism, which is less interesting to me.

does anyone know the essense of what she did with that 3 questions technique, or can illustrate her methodology for distilling the main issue from someone else's confused mental state?

That is an Urban Legend. Not true.

Ayn Rand is one of my favorite authors, and I have read most, if not all, of her works, even the ones she wrote when she had just migrated from Russia and was obviously still getting to know the English language. But this is the first time I have ever heard of this 3-questions thing.

let me elaborate:
3 issues that dealt with every kind of mental state,
1) his communication to himself n others
2) his/her acceptance level[how attache a person is to his past or future]
3) knowing worth of paying the price what they want to get in their life.
crux of all is road traveled y him/her through so many experiences or roles he lived.

Read Atlas Shrugged. Sort of like a bad acid trip, but without the acid. No, wait. That's Vonnegut. My bad.... No, Ayn Rand is just long and depressing.
