Pain & rejection are a big part of love. It would be wonderful if everyone we loved loved us back, but real life doesn't work that way. You will get hurt a lot. But someday, you will find the right person. All of these setbacks are practice and will help you appreciate how lucky you are when you finally find the right person.
Think about it as eating ice cream. Right now, you are eating liver, and you don't like liver. Eating liver all the time makes getting ice cream a treat. Likewise, if you always got to eat ice cream every day, ice cream wouldn't be very special.

somebody once called love a many splendoured thing.
from the standpoint of a pessimist i'd say that many things, including love, are a double edged sword; there's a bad side as well as the good side.
if you'd like to see an in-depth definition then look up the "love chapter" in the holy bible. the reference is 1st Corinthians the entire chapter 13. when i first read it it wasn't in the bible and i thought is was too sweet. see what you think.

love is a mixture of affection, desire and romance..
when u get all these combined this is real love that stands the test of time..
love is feeling that hits u like a storm u never know where it came from but the damage it does lasts 4 ever..

I thought I knew, but know I'm not sure. I thought is was unconditional but my boyfriend got all bent out of shape with me a few days ago I haven't heard from him, but when we get past this I do Know he won't tell me his still loves me for a few days

love does hurt, but it is suppose to be a relationship between two people that you can trust, rely on, best friend, lover, faithful,and all those things ....giving and caring for the other person as they do theirself....but i agree with you love does hurt...
