It depends on your skin type. If your skin is normally dry or normally VERY oily, I would NOT suggest doing stains..

They last fairly long - I just tried on the Tarte Blushing Bride Cheek stain, and it was kind of hard to get on (felt like I was using a sticky liquid gluestick), but once I blended it in with my fingers, it looked uber natural.

The lip stains are quite nice too, but they truly stain your lips, and won't look glossy.

These stains for your lips may also be hard to get off... but they tend to last longer than lipstick (although not as moisturizing, but you could always wear lip balm over it periodically through the day.

If a Sephora or a department store is near you, head on in and try on some MAC makeup at the counter, and see how you like the texture - it's very different from creams and liquids..
