According to the ovulation calender, one can choose the gender of the child by having sex on particular dates of the fertility period. Is this true? Also they say that sex in some positions help you conceive a boy/girl. Does it work like that?

The facts are, boy sperm swim faster than girl sperm, but girl sperm live longer than boys; therefore, if you have sex 24-36 hours prior to ovulation your chances are greater for conceiving a girl. If you have sex about 24 hours after ovulation you better your chances of having a boy. This is because of the viability of the sperm and the readiness of the egg. Male sperm live for about 12 hours or so, but female sperm (slower swimmers) remain viable for 24-36 hours (generally). The other thing that will affect the sperm is the acidity of the environment. Boys prefer a more alkaline environment (baking soda and water douche before sex); female sperm prefer the more acidic environment (vinegar and water douche before sex).
There are no guarantees, but these things better your chances.
Position has nothing to do with it except that the environment is changed by orgasm as well, so if a certain position causes one to finish before the other (male first = girl; female first = boy) then it could make a difference. if you research this topic, you will find way to much info and it will drive you crazy. There are so many wives tales and scientific speculation. The thing about which sperm swims faster, if you research that one will say its the male sperm that swim faster that is why there are more boys born. another will say that its the male sperm that live longer that's why theres more boys, But some say its the female sperm that swim faster but die quicker. Others say its the ph balance in the woman that allows what sperm will penetrate the egg.
This is another form of exploitation by people out to make money. The only way to absolutely choose the sex of your baby is by removing a few eggs and fertilizing them in a lab, then implanting the embryo of the sex you want. If all those other theories work, then we should let china know, so they can start using it and stop abandoning their little girls.
Although the sex ratio averages out everywhere to 106 boys for every 100 girls, researchers have found that men in some occupational groups have a tendency to have more girls. Some studies have found that men who are more physically active, like joggers and weight lifters tend to produce more female sperm.
They say that during time of war we tend to have more boys, because of the stress, and anguish women are under, which goes with the testerone theory, that when women are more dominent, which they have to be during war, when the men are gone, their testoserone levels go up.
I have a friend who had 4 boys in a row, they wanted to try again for a girl, her husband was told to ride a stationary bike everyday, and yes they had a girl.

I don't think position can have an impact on the gender, and there's no guarantee of having a girl or boy by having sex on particular dates, but by having sex 2-3 days before your fertility period rather than during it, you may increase your chances of having a girl. Male sperm are faster, but die more quickly. The female sperm are slower, but can survive longer. Which means that if you have sex when you are already fertile, the odds of a male sperm getting to the egg first are greater (though not a sure thing), and if you have sex a few days before, the male sperm will have started dying, and the female ones will have reached the egg by then.

no it is not at all like that ur assumption is wrong doing sex in different position will give u pleasure atmost thats it but it doesnot gauratnee u to have a boy enjoy what u are doing bye

dont know for sure but it sounds like it might be an old wives tale like putting one sock on the end of your bedhead and you will have a boy. just let nature take its course. i dont think there is anything you can do to make having a boy/or girl more likely.

position doesnt matter abt boy/girl child.....if u have sex near to ur ovulatory time ur chances of getting baby boy is more or u can get ur husband X chromosomes to be washed in lab so that ur x and his y can give u baby boy but still its not 100% result oriented just ur chances will get increase.But i suggest watever it comes just accept as gods gift....

there is a chinese calender where you can choose a boy or a girl.I shall email it to you as soon as i get it. in the mean time you can search in the net for it.

My friend used that and the Chinese calendar to have her daughter, she had 3 boys before that and it worked for her supposedly.
Boys swim faster than girls and girls live longer.

No, it does not work that way. Your husband's genes determine the gender of the baby.
