We have a Cliot 172 - the camshaft failed in August, it cost £1400 to repair, the camshaft went again a few days ago and currently in garage for investigation. Do you know of known problems with camshaft relating to this type of car?

The guys on that site know pretty much everything there is to know about Renault's. (Especially 19's and Clio's)

i'm not familiar with the model. however if its the DOHC engine that is used in people carriers these do suffer from camshaft problems. and cheap replacements are not successful. an ER in suffolk norwich area supplies and fits genuine camshaft. will add further when i locate relevant article
