It seems the US feels the need to enforce its version of pseudo-democracy all over the world. Sometimes US 'assistance' is requested by a country, other times it seems unwarranted. Perceived threats to the US often turn out to be imaginary, Iraq, Iran and North Korea spring to mind. Quick reactions do not always result in the best decisions.

I read recently that the theory is that it was the men with the real power in America and Europe, the Bankers, who have brought this about for their own agenda, it makes sense to me.

Dave,
Are you trying to agitate? I do know how you're particular brand of caustic wit runs and I appreciate it. But, leave the Iraq struggle from the American prospect out of it. I watched on 9/11 as those buildings fell and a plane ripped through our Pentagon. If we had not taken immediate action we WOULD be fighting another war(I believe the last one with a "Foreign" country was that pesky Revolutionary war) on our own soil. I do agree that we get ourselves into things that are none of our business a good portion of the time. Accept my IM invitation and we can debate these things one on one instead of in the YA section. Get back to the witty stuff I enjoy those questions. I mean, after all you did tell me to lighten up one time. Perhaps a bit of your own advise is the order of the day.

No body ever appointed a country as a super power. The country itself appoints itself depending on its power. This has happened since the Romans and Persians. It's like that, when you're very strong you start behaving in a stupid way that leads you to return to your normal situation (after facing few setbacks).
