May be easy but not meaningful. It made even less sense to live than , say 200 years ago. Sprituality enhances a person's life not comfort or scientific progress. We have earned our independence and that made us arrogant and individualistic. We kinda put our egos in the place of God. That is quite a burden for faulty creatures like us.
I think life is not more meaningful....

True progress does make life more meaningful, the word itself means grow, gain, advance, improve.
Personally i can say yes, progress has made my life more meaningful, and if i look at the lives of those i know , progress has made the majorities lives more meaningful.
There are those who have made big mistakes , and their lives were ruined, although the opprtunities to progress was there.
To answer your question it would mean one has to look at life in totality.
For example, we say we have progressed industrially, but with the same breath we say we are killing the world because of pollution.
So , if we stick to the control measures, we will progress meaningfully.

Not really for progress or no progress the moral issues intrinsic in man's nature are the same no matter what culture or society; no matter what time in history man lives in. Man is the common denominator in all of this.
It is not progress that makes a man's life meaningful. It is how we use the fruits of luxury to help life become better and more meaningful for others.

Progress hasn't made our lives more meaningful. It has only added to the complications of life and took away the simplicity of our lives. Progress had given more knowledge to the human race and always will. But it has not made it any more meaningful than it was before the industrial revolution.
It has improved our lot to be sure. But it has not given any more meaning to us. Just more knowledge and more ease in travel, communication, and literature.
It is we ourselves who give meaning to our lives not progress. Progress gives us something else, and it is not wisdom, nor meaning.

it has made our lives easier, for sure... but meaning in life ? i don`t think so... progress has nothing to do with how meaningful ( or meaningless ) we make out of our lives...

If you are speaking of scientific progress, then no. If I had not made progress as a person my soul would have withered and died.

Progress has made us more individualistic, selfish, money-oriented, materialistic and artificial. We are losing our true nature and we are seeking it which is already a part of us.
