It may be minor, but i cant help but say too that this describes exactly what was happening to my mom at around the same age. Its called recurring polychrondritis. my spelling may be off. but what it is is a autoimmune disorder that attacks the cartilige in the body, Nose, throat, lungs, eyes etc can all be infected. I would tell your mom to tell your doc to look into this possiblility as it took a long time to diagnose my mom. Google search polychrondritis on the web and itll answer alot of your questions

also almost forgot the most important thing. The thing that did diagnose my mom's problem was she went into see a specialist they did a endoscopy the pressure from the instrument that went down her throat colapsed the cartalige in her throat closing off her airway during surgery. she had to have an emergency tracheonomy. please please please have your mom look into this with the doc's before they go shoving down this insturment into her throat

Pls take her to the ER and do not let them discharge her without doing an EKG to make sure that she is not having a heart attack. It is the #1 killer of women.

What's worse is that when the symptoms are going on b/c it's not always the traditional symptoms there are a number of drs that can think it's just an anxiety issue when it's not.

I suggest basic breathing exercises & would advise that she should avoid all kind of toxic intakes ,take fruit juices and go for short walks that would lower the anxity levels in her ,don't follow a stress ful day routine
