Everyone has different taste in sports. For me since i was brought up in Fiji, Rugby is the National Sport of the Country so obviously i had to play. I have been playing rugby for 15 years and i still find it as the best sport in the world. As for other people who are saying rugby is gay!! to the hell with them as they obviously have not played rugby. If you compare rugby to football......no i don't want to go through this again. I seriously suggest for you to sit down and watch a rugby match (particularly the NZ All Blacks) and i guarantee there won't be any breaks after one tackle as the play is continuous. Whilst Football...hello!!!, can last for hours. I have to admit that football is also interesting (just the highlights) but be realistic, how can you say rugby is a gay sport when footballers wear safety gear. If you still think rugby is a gay sport, play atleast one game....you wouldn't even last 15 minutes

It is only when the English play rugby does it look gay.
I mean would u call The Irish and French Rugby teams gay? hmmmm?
Rugby and Football are completely different, i mean in a rugby match there are 15 player, in football 11. You are not allowed to touch the ball with ur hands in football while playing, in Rugby you can. There is no Goal keeper, the rules are different. It's like Golf and Pool.
I love Rugby, best game ever. Football Is great too.
I watch and play rugby and football, both different both great.
:-)

This questions was asked by Laura only last week with a resounding preference to Rugby, she also asked the French speaking community the same question.
In short Rugby is a Full Contact Team Sport played by Men, (and now women) with Balls, requiring skill, stamina, sportsmanship and dedication.
Football is not really a sport, it's full of pretenders and actors and should be reclassified as one of the arts, preferably a sub category under acting although it's a perfectly good way of keeping the dross in society away from Rugby.

Rugby is better by a long way. It's more fun to play and more interesting to watch. Anyone who says it's dangerous doesn't know the first thing about it, if you're careful it's one of the safest sports in the world.

Football. Because football is less dangerous than rugby. I mean, rugby can be dangerous because the players knock each other just to get the ball.

I of course go with with RUGBY ,rugby in itself seems to offer more chances to utlize brains, cunning, brawn, speed, agilety and a variety of kicks with far more excitment than football ever could hope to in a match.

I am undecided, I love them both. I guess rugby is better to watch, but football is better to play. Football pays better, so football just wins.

I would prefer rugby if I wasn't such shite at tackling, but since I can't, I prefer football.
