Bees are insects in the Order Hymenoptera which also includes the wasps, ants, and hornets. It is one of the "BIG 4" in terms of insect orders. Bees develop by Complete metamorphosis, this means they have a distinct larval, pupal and adult stage though out their development.
The entire order of Hymentoptera is typically defined on very generalized morphological characters, the most evident is the narrow "waist" between the abdomen and thorax, however this is not present in Symphyta, a suborder which includes the sawflies and horntails. Elbowed antennae are also common, large compound eyes and a triangular shaped trio of ocelli are also common. Sociality is also common within this order, many groups live social lives which is quite spectacular in the animal kingdom. Bees are a perfect example of a social insect.

Hope this helps!

Bees are eusocial insects that belong to the order Hymenoptera, this order also includes ants and wasps. They have six legs, some can see UV light(limited), honey bees in particular have 5 eyes. Honey bees have a morphological feature on their hind legs called a corbicula, or pollen baskets, that are used to collect pollen to bring back to colonies. Most bee colonies have a caste system, consisting of a Queen that produces all of the workers etc. Probably the most well known bee is the Honey Bee, or Apis mellifera. There are various subspecies. The killer bee is an africanized version of this species. Bees play an integral role in agriculture by pollinating many staple crops.

Bees are insects that collect honey, which humans and other animals (bears, honey badger) steal for food.

They pollinate flowers by spreading the flower pollen from male flowers to females, and vice versa.

They live in colonies and make beautiful hexagonal homes called hive.
