I usually did the flowers and chocolates, and a special meal for starters.
Otherwise, I asked her what she might like or need. She always came up with several ideas. Then I would pick one or two.
She was delighted, and I proud.

Mum died just before I started uni this go, I carry the memories of mother's day, her birthday, and Christmas with me always.

You won't regret any wonderful thing you can do for your mum now.

Depends on how old she is, but I'm a Mum as well as having a Mum and I think that a meal out (or cooked by one of your children) is one of the best presents you can receive. Of course if your pocket is large and you are rich you could take her away for a weekend. If you pocket is small don't over reach yourself as that will cause her more pain. In this case take her for a walk somewhere nice, and take a flask with you.

A lovely photo frame with a picture of her mom put in it or one of the family, a nice meal out and just general pampering and running round after her all day for a change is something I am sure she would really appreciate, wish I still had my mom, always treasure yours.

Why not take her out somewhere special ?

Buy her a voucher to a Beauty Salon - where she can be pampered. A manicure, pedicure or massage etc., ?
