I wouldn't worry about it if it doesn't repeat too often, most likely a program locked up or a some hardware gave a temporary unexpected result, and XP was able to recover from it.

And for the person that gets this 20 times a day, now you should worry. In years of using XP I have seen that error maybe about 5 times.

Update your anti-virus and run a full system scan. On top of that install anti-spyware software like avg anti-spyware and scan your pc for malware. There are other tools like registry mechanic and system mechanic which can help tweak your system and remove errors.
Windows have a tendency to gather junk as time goes on and if you ignore it then you system will take a perfomance hit with time.

So.....rejoice. I get this a lot. The error probably wasn't that serious in the first place, but if your pc has recovered from it anyway........don't sweat it.

Well I am very pleased for your computer. Those messages are from Microsoft, I get about 20 a day. I don't bother, it's just Windows XP playing up....

My computer did that everyday on startup for about 3 months, when I cancelled the note it would come back again a couple of min later, I started to drag and drop it to one of the bottom corners every day, just so you don't have to delete it several times every session, and then one day it just disappeared. must be one of those XP weird problem's.

Yeah , I had a windows message quite similar to that pop up about 10 minutes ago. I just clicked 'ok' and everything seems fine so I wouldn't worry about it.

It happened to me last year more than once. I don't want to worry anybody but my computer eventually crashed. I then had to use my restore disc to get it going again. I also had reinstall all my programs, which is a nuisance if some are downloaded.

Good luck.
