One of a kind sounds more like a compliment than a criticism. It just means you are unique, but you never said what the person said it about or whether they looked happy or sarcastic. It is better not to take one single comment out of context and try to wring too much meaning from it. Look at everything else the person says to you and you'll get the drift of how they feel about you. And there is no reason to allow anyone else to dictate what you are, you get to decide that! What's weird to one person could be exactly right to another.

It means you are unique, so I guess that is ok unless your sole ambition in life is to blend into the crowd and go about your daily routines unnoticed. Whether that also means you are weird is hard to tell without knowing you, isn't it?

It means you're an individual.
Everyone is weird to someone else, I pride myself in being weird although my six year old niece argued with me the other day that I'm not weird...so young and so naive! she'll learn!

If someone says that you are a one-of-a-kind, it is only one person that has uniquely identified you, probably not in a weird or Dee Dee Dee way.

It means they see a quality in you that they don't see in others and they think your special for it ...

it is okey and no, it doesn't mean you're weird, only different. every person is unique in itself. even twins have different characters even if they have the same looks. what is wrong with being different? be proud of it. you are your own self. you don't have to be a copycat of anyone.

It's not exactly a compliment, if they meant to praise, they'd specify what 'kind'
They may be sarcastic
