In 2010 I will be nearing age 30 and I will get out of the US Military having had almost 8 years time in service as a Military Police Officer. Currently I am pursuing my bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration, but haven't taken many of my Criminal Justice classes. I wanted to take all my core classes first and I am about finished. I always wanted to be a Cop, but lately have been reconsidering. I have a wife and a daughter. My wife doesn't really want be being a police officer and I am begining to wonder if I want to continue to work the long law enforcement hours to get a good salary.

Where can I find predictions of the "jobs in demand" will be around 2010 so I know whether or not I should stick with what I'm doing or go with something else. I want to reside around Charlotte, NC or the York County area of South Carolina.

Thanks in advance for your help. Please no stupid answers that are unrelated. I am looking for serious advice so I can raise my family honorably

The only "jobs in demand" that will offer any security are government jobs.

Private American jobs are fading away, even Alan Greenspan is predicting a recession is coming.

And before I go, thank you for serving our country. I really appreciate it.

Hi there. I'm not sure if this applies to your area, but in Singapore there is quite a number of jobs available without commanding any risks.

Most retired cops or military personals in Singapore would turn to schools. In schools, they are usually
1) Operations Manager
2) Admin Manager
3) Technical Lab Assit.

Maybe you can look around your neighbourhood and ask the schools if such employments are possible in the U.S.
Their salary in Singapore is around $1, 000 to $ 2, 000 which is almost about the same as most military personals in Singapore.
