We wouldn't have had a problem if governments had more dams built, & banned cotton growing & rice growing in australia because they use a massive amount of water & australia is not suitable for that kind of growing & that foreign gold company that is using a massive amount of water a day for a carton of beer & polluting our land as well
& councils letting water run down the gutters sometimes for days before they fix it & now southbank is leaking heaps of water a day & they can't get at it
australia should be ashamed because they have raped & destroyed our rivers & land in less than 200 years
there is some parts of australia that they hardly ever show because of the shame of it all where all the trees were ripped down & the land is just left as a barron dust bowl

It has to be addressed nationally - but also locally -if local councils put in the infrastructure, such as dams, recycling street stormwater to use on ovals etc, water tanks for gardens and internal toilets, laundries - BASIX is finally doing this, then no problems. Have a look at Port Macquarie Hastings Council website - they are just completing the latest infrastructure for recycling stormwater for use on ovals. The majority paid for from their own funds, other councils complain they need government handouts to create these initatives, basically they never planned ahead. Not associated with the council in any way. They do other things as stupidly as all other councils -but in infrastructure they have been smart.
