That will never happen!
But what may happen some time in the furture and its been talked about a fair bit. Is make between New Zealand and Australia a Domestic Flight sector instead of an International flight.
You would still need to take your passport though.

Your talking about joining two countries together that have different history, customes, religions, beliefs, traditions, holidays. Why in gods name would you do that? Why not join America & Canada? At least there actually connected by land. Australia & New Zealand are seperated by an ocean & over 1000 years of history. Wake up to yourself!!!

The Australian Constitution allows New Zealand to join the federation of States that makes up the Commonwealth of Australia. All it requires is for New Zealanders to vote for it in a referendum. It is highly unlikely to happen, neither country would have anyone to play netball against, but it could.

No. Can you imagine saying to an American "you should become one with Canada" Or Mexico. Or numerous other countries that join borders. On that New zealand and Australia do not!

At Federation, 1st of Jan 1901, New Zealand was supposed to sign the paper and become a part of Australia but pulled out. Just thought I'd mention that.
But also, I just have to give my whole hearted - NO!!! And I think you are a massive sh!t stirrer.

You'll probably get a resounding "No" from both sides of the Tasman, over that.
Entirely trivial fact; New Zealand was, at one time, a part of New South Wales. At least, on maps, and administratively speaking.

Treat the question with the contempt it deserves.
With an ID like Zufali I imagine you're of Arabic descent?
Stick to questions you know something about.......
EDIT: If Australia & NZ merged, no other country would win ANY sporting events!!!!!!
Richo, you reckon there's a load of kiwis in Perth? I reckon there's loads more in Qld. I live in Freo now but grew up in Brissy
Cupcake, a bit harsh to say Aussies & Kiwis aren't best of friends....... remember the ANZACS?? At least we watch each other's backs ;-)
Kiwis are better than the Poms or Sth Africans ;-) It's only in a sporting context that there's a bitter rivalry, apart from that I think they're ok.....

Oh my god! If you were from Australia or New Zealand you'd realise how absurd that suggestion is! Besides the obvious geographical distance, Aussies and Kiwis are not the best of friends. Just like Canadians and Americans!

Maaaaate! Are you for real?! Who'd check the thongs? Who'd count the sheep? Or even the gumboots? How will we know the difference between "six" and "sex" or even "sux" (depends on wot part of the island they come from). I mean, fair crack of the whip, you can't be serious? You're not FROM the cloudy place are you. Hanging around Bondi and getting a few weird ideas? Need help? Got a yen to get closer to them icebergs floating closer to THEM than they are to US? I know there's more of them here than there - but let's not let it turn itself into a revolution - I mean Jo is dead mate! Didn't work for Queensland aint gonna work with the rest of us! ONYA!
