my in-laws have been displaying love and affection to their son, just to get money out of him. my mother in-law is too demanding for a luxurious life and my father in - law has no shame in demanding money even for minute things. what has to be done with such people?

Does your husband know any of this, if he knows whats his reaction, is he willing to acknowledge that his parents are going way out of their league, i think you should make your husband see the truth and set a trap on ur inlaws, or get seperated from them, and you can set them up in a nice apartment and have a servant to take care of their needs and thats it. or take some legal advice

Why should parents be ashamed of asking for money from their kids? You must be nuts.
They too care of their son untill he was able to face out this ruthless world independantly. They made him capable for whatever he's achieving now. Off course his calibre does come into count, but who developped this calibre into the person who knew nothing about the world. So when it's the sons turn to pay them back, why do wives have to interfere?
He is looking after you too, isn't he? So why do you wanna get into his parents share? What's wrong with their demands of luxurious life? Do you think it's only the your generation who is entitled to get all the luxuries? Why should you try to deprive those aged people from thse pleasures? Would you think the same for your parents if they asked for something that your in-laws have asked?
Why is this world full of hypocrites?

Every parents expect something from their children, if the child does not pay more attention to the parent's need only then parents become so demanding. So dear plz let them be, just ensure that your husband gives you enough money for yourself and let others live as they wish. And always try and make some savings from your money.

u need to prepare and tell it to ur husband in such a manner that does not offend ur relationship ...see u can take care of them to some extent not on the expense of thier luxuries ..handle this issue very patiently

what about d money they spend on their son???for good education,good life ,good job .If they r demanding something from their son is nothing wrong.Tomarrow If ur son grows up and ur daughter in law post d same question n yahoo answer ,what u will feel???? think about it.
