Consciousness is experience in a practical way and there is no mechanism to be explained.

sure it could and it has been but it is a bull**** explanation of course because mechanism is just a way of looking at the natural world.

locating a 'seat of conciousness' in the brain for example, doesnt explain consciousness it just localizes an effect of it.

inversely, to argue that consciousness doesnt have an expression outside of physicality is not provable. it is merely an opinion based on an assumption

in fact, mechanism itself only works within its own confines. we now know that matter is not really an entity but rather condensation of energy. where does that leave mechanism?

i mean fo course it is still useful, such as newtonian physics is still useful within its parameters, but quantum physics cannot be explained by newtonian physics; likewise consciousness can never be understood using tools of mechanism.

Okay, take a clock.
Its mechanism works when its wound...or is power operated.
Thats the mind working in its normal way as a mechanism that was set (born, evolved) to perform a task.

Read the dial of the clock....it tells time.Does the mechanism know that its doing that?

So read the working mind doing what it mechanically does.
And read the time as the consciousness that the mechanics does not know it does.

First understand and feel about conscious, then we can think of a mechanism to expand, if needed.

No.
It is not an element or a physical item which can be explained by mechanism.

Consciousness is like how a key fits into a keyhole. It's the ability of the key to be able to fit into the key but does that ability lie with the keyhole or the key?
