I would only buy healthy foods and avoid processed food. I would cut out butter, margerines and oil and only use a max of 2 tsp of oil per person daily. I would promote drinking water and exercising. I would serve less red meat especially lamb and substitute with chicken and fish. I would avoid frying and rather roast or boil or barbecue. If bread is requested I would provide GI free bread or provita or similar breads. I would also respect encourage and find methods of complementing my partner on dress and find something nice to complement.

The other extreme is to seek help regarding feelings and emotions. Its possible this person is suffering from rejection, selfhatred, hopelessness and even laziness about self. MAybe a week at a spa will be an encouragement and stir this person to take more interest and care and even to see the inhouse clinical psychologist.

Nothing is more destructive than ones feelings and emotions and often peoplewho overeat have a reason for it. THe thing is that nothing can be done for them until they recognize that they havee a problem and only then can something be done about it. You can speak till you are blue in the face but nothing you say will make them respond. The walls will just go up higher. My suggestion is that you send this person to a spa for a week. Find out the costs and save like mad, but dont be threatening. Do this with unconditional love.

Good luck

Oh PS have this person checked for type two diabetes.

Make an appointment with the doctor.

Don't bother with silly diets, diet products, etc. The only thing that matters when trying to lose weight is burning more calories than you are taking in. This means you can eat whatever the heck you want, but not as much as you want. Count your calories and get some exercise. Start riding your bike or going on walks or, if you feel up to it, running. Don't cut your calorie intake to an unhealthy level either. Losing weight doesn't happen overnight, or even over a few weeks. Losing weight will take months and it will also take constant effort to keep the weight off. If you really want to do this you can, you just need to make a plan and stick with it. Good luck!

I would be there for moral support but if that showed no improvement the extreme thing that I would do i guess is slip them some ex-lax and let them crap the weight off. (Just joking)

I wouldn't go to any extremes I would just let them do what they need to do and support them all the way maybe even join them at the gym every now and again.
