I have always felt that life is worth living, but a "sea change" in my attitude occurred when my father died.
Like him I worked like a dog, long hours, working at home, blah, blah.........I liked the idea of lots of money coming in the door.
My dad died within weeks of retiring and I realised that he had wasted his life working so hard.
Don't get me wrong......I'm not advocating everyone should kick back and not work but, at the moment my dad died I realised that you need to strike a balance.
Work hard, sure........but not so you miss your family growing up, so you don't have time to spend with your wife, so there is no time to see the flowers growing in your garden, no time to spend with your friends.

life is always worth living... because someone out there loves and depends on you, and you make them happy, and you in turn make their life worth living.
life is worth living because we only have this one chance to live it. we should always try to leave positive footprints on this earth.
and life is worth living because there really is so much love in this world. it may not seem like it sometimes, but so many people love you, even when u feel all alone. and God is always there for you. when u feel like you're at the end of your rope, He will catch you if you fall.
life is worth living because you are the only YOU there is. it might sound lame, but its true. smile at people, because u never know what kind of day they are having. laugh whenever u can. laughter is the best medicine. and love as often as possible.

Long before two of my brothers tried to kill themselves one weekend years ago. One brother did it, and another brother failed. But I knew as a teenager in Hamilton back in the early seventies......LIFE IS SO DAMN GOOD. Despite the sour and wild grapes we have to chew on and eat throughout our lives, despite the vinegar on our teeth at times, we have such a sweet thing in life. Here in North America there is so much for us. Even the poverty stricken have so much more than many. We are blessed. In the realms of the poverty there are those who want out and actually work like an angel to get out......then do it. Because there is so much here to gain, to live for. I knew that shortly after I realized Richard Cory was a coward. I was a kid then. I grew a wee bit more knowing that.

whenever I put that gun to my head, that knife to my wrist, those sleeping pills in my hand, the speedometer to 90 and the steering wheel to 5 o'clock, or that bomb to my chest, the acid in my cereal, the rat posion in my pie, the bathtub full and my head under the water, or my feet on the edge of a 20 story building,..... I think of yahoo! answers. LOL

Life was worth living when I was filled with love from my God and savior, and when I was in love with the "one that got away"....
