There are approx. 3.14 billion men and 3.17 billion women.
If you break this down into three age groups, you notice the following: of the under 18 year-olds, there are approx. 8 million more men than women;
of the 18-60 year-olds there are approx 6 million more women than men in the world;
and of the 60+s, there are approx 35 million more women than men.
The contributing reasons for this include cancers; suicides; childmurder; heart & organ diseases; workload management; the way eggs are fertilised; wars; the way depression following injury or sickness is handled; .... many other factors.
